Aged Care Network

Hello everyone.

Welcome to the ‘Ageing to our full potential’ forum page. I thought it would be good to call it that, rather than ‘Aged Care Network’ because I wanted it to reflect the work of the Network, which should be future focused, and also inclusive – there’s a huge UnitingCare network out there, and this is a great way to get out of our ‘silo’.

As much as possible, I will be saving network resources here (if there are any confidential papers I will continue to use email). One area I would like to build up is a research folder – please feel free to upload any papers you think are of interest and I can have them included in the resources folder for easy access.

I’ll be creating some topics to keep things going while we ride out the COVID-19 storm. These will be based on the workplan that I am creating for our ageing agenda, so that we are ready when the Royal Commission recommences, or to contribute to ongoing departmental reforms.

Please feel free to add any other topics that you would like – be creative! This portal came out of a Network innovation workshop when I’d just started – even though it doesn’t appear in the memo I distinctly remember a group with Jane Pickering and myself having an aha! moment (memo is attached, because it’s got some thoughts worth revisiting).

You wanted a ‘community of practice’ and that part is up to you! Please participate as you have the need or the opportunity. kate
